WelcomeTo The 2008 Dallas Dance Festival !

You are cordially invited to the dance event that has come to be known as the "Dress Rehearsal" for World's.

Once again, 2007 DDF became the largest UCWDC Sanctioned "regular event", with the largest cash payout ever for Top Teachers and the largest "regular season" cash awards for couples Crown and Masters. For 2008, by popular demand, DDF will once again offer these same cash awards, plus special Top Student prizes for both Male and Female for each Pro Am skill level.

In addition, in 2008 we will again provide the Annual Wayne Bonham Memorial Scholarship to the top Male & Female AM's and will introduce and offer the new "Tex Mix" Ballroom that will provide a good mix of dance music with lots of open dancing throughout the weekend.

The Dallas Dance Festival is a fully sanctioned UCWDC event. We will offer a full range of programs including Pro-Am, Couples, Street Swing and Hustle Challenge, Street Swing and Hustle Pro-Am, Teams and Line Pro-Am and Lots of Open Dancing. In addition, the normal fee charged for Competitor Scores has been waived and will be provided to competitors at no additional cost.

The 2008 Dallas Dance Festival will be held November 13th - 16th, 2008 and will be returning to the fantastic Sheraton Grand Hotel (@DFW Airport) located at 4440 W John Carpenter Freeway Irving, Texas 75063 (800) 345-5251 & (972) 929-8400). Even more exciting, we will also be at this same hotel location for the 2009 Dallas Dance Festival.

The 2007 Dallas Dance Festival is proud and honored to award the first annual Wayne Bonham Scholarship Award to the top DDF Male and top DDF Female amateur Pro-Am dancers.

Please join the Dallas Dance Festival with your congratulations to Top Male Amateur, Hank Penland and his pro, Rachel Jones and to Top Female Amateur Catherine Pisano and her pro, Bob Wheatly. Each ranked number one ahead of all others in a very large and competitive Pro-Am field.



For many years Wayne Bonham was a positive influence to many within our Dance Community and a vital part of the Dallas Dance Festival.

He competed in our arena, provided many of the dance floors that support our events and was the developer and first to use the "floating dance floor" as we know it today. Wayne actively encouraged the dancers and provided many pictures for the dancers throughout the years. He has been a true friend and leader to our Dance Community, to the dancers and to the Dallas Dance Festival.

The Wayne Bonham Memorial Scholarship has been established in Wayne's memory to encourage and assist dancers to continue their efforts in our dance sport to be the very best they can be.

2007 Dallas Dance Festival Dancers Win $19,425.00 In Purse Money

Thank you one and all for supporting The 2007 Dallas Dance Festival. We have received a large number of positive email comments and phone messages. By all accounts, this truly was the best Dallas Dance Festival to date. The Hotel was full and 100% sold out two weeks prior to the event dates, the dance entries were at an amazing 2300 entries and the event was once again the largest regular UCWDC event of the year and larger then many of the past Worlds events. Thanks to your support, this is the sixth straight year you have honored the Dallas Dance Festival by making it the largest regular event of the year. Workshops were attended in numbers larger then expected and a great time was had by all. Not only that, we were on time throughout the event with no major schedule changes. Thank you dancers for your help, support and fantastic dancing.

Not only did everyone have a fantastic time, Dallas Dance Festival Dancers walked away with $19,425.00 in cash awards! $11,000 of that purse money was awarded to the top Male and top Female Teachers and the first Wayne Bonham Memorial Scholarship was awarded to the top amateur male and top amateur female pro-am dancers. It paid to dance at the Dallas Dance Festival and was fun watching wonderful dancers in hot competition.

Congratulations to all of the dancers and thank you to all who supported DDF! The Dallas Dance Festival was a fantastic success and a good time was had by all.
